Graphic Assets Solar Tsunamis Our Auckland

Solar Tsunamis – Parawhenua Kōmaru introduces the science of space weather and its effects on Aotearoa.

Get hands-on with magnets, play with a plasma ball, generate your own electricity, make an aurora, and much more.

Discover the realms of magnetism, electricity and geology. Learn how solar flares that produce our awesome southern aurora could also be an electrical and communications hazard that is out of this world.

This interactive experience will especially benefit intermediate and secondary school-aged ākonga (students) as they build understanding of physics, Earth and space science. Developed together with Tūhura Otago Museum. See you there!
