Emily Rice Music

Performing as part of the opening of the exhibition, "Ode to Joy".

Emily Rice is a musician and songwriter from Tāmaki Makaurau, with a sound that moves through different styles, evolving with each new project. The genre-crossing artist delves into the world of electronic-dance, neo-soul & pop music with her latest releases. Leading with her jazzy vocal sound, adding a sprinkle of saxophone and echoes of te reo Māori, she brings a real feeling of warmth and aroha to her every performance.

Emily is also one half of, and the manager of Pukekohe based husband & wife duo, Aro, Charles & Emily Looker, who have been nominated for multiple NZ music awards since forming in 2017, most recently, becoming finalists for the 2024 Silver Scrolls. Renowned for blending Emily's honey-voiced jazz with Charles' full throated percussive sound with shades of haka.
