Join us for 'Buwan ng Wika', translated in Filipino as Language Month. In the Philippines, Buwan ng Wika is celebrated annually in the month of August to promote the Philippines' national language, Filipino, and its indigenous languages.

Come join us for a celebration of Filipino language and culture here in Aotearoa New Zealand, specifically in Franklin! Experience the vibrant Filipino culture with us through these FREE activities:

  • 10am: Filipino Storytime for kids
  • 10am: 'Filipino Food and Ancient Script' Painting Workshop* (updated schedule)
  • 10.45am: 3D Philippine Jeepney Craft for kids
  • 10.45am: Filipino Poetry and Storytelling for all ages
  • 11.30 am: Live folk dance performances - Tinikling Ethnic Dance, Subli Folk Dance and Filipino Contemporary Dance
  • 12pm onwards: Free taste of Filipino food (until food run out)

Other free activities: Face painting
