Join us for a day of volunteering and help us plant native trees and shrubs to restore the Papakura Stream. Celebrate your hard work afterwards by joining us for a free sausage sizzle (meat and vege sausages available).
At 63 kilometres long and with a catchment of 4,100 hectares, the Papakura Stream is a significant freshwater system. The Papakura Stream Restoration Project aims to restore and protect stream banks and water quality, as well as habitat for native species, through fencing (with Future Posts – recycled plastic fence posts), planting native trees, water quality monitoring, and community engagement on both public and private land.
