Alan Reekie: Arts Governance Expert
Alan has been involved with performing arts governance for many years. He was a committee member of the North Shore Performing Arts Society since the 1980s and was awarded Life Membership in 2018. These competitions enabled many young people to participate in the performing arts in Auckland and helped establish the careers of many singers in New Zealand.
Alan has a background in accounting which has well placed him to develop his knowledge of constitutional documents, keeping up with changing regulatory requirements, his willingness to help others acquire the skills needed to govern effectively, and stepping in to help with organisational matters as required.
Alan serves as Secretary of the North Shore Theatre and Arts Trust and is a life Member of the Trust.
Alan is going to share his history with the arts and The PumpHouse in particular.
About Creative Talks
The PumpHouse Theatre’s Creative Talks series aims to bring the community together with creatives to discover more about their process and what inspires them. Each event explores what goes on behind the scenes to create their unique art. There is something for everyone with an interest in the arts and what inspires and drives creativity.
The event is free with tea and coffee provided.
