There's three fun options to choose from these school holidays at Stardome, whatever your budget:

  • Gallery entry and a Space Race Scavenger Hunt

  • A planetarium show followed by water rocket launching

  • An educator led robotics activity with show and water rocket demonstration.

SCAVENGER HUNT

Find the LEGO invaders in our Space Race scavenger hunt! Hunt around our gallery for some unwelcome visitors who have infiltrated our displays! All you’ll need is a mobile device and some keen eyes.

Cost: $5, no need to book.

PLANETARIUM SHOW + WATER ROCKET LAUNCHING* + SCAVENGER HUNT (weekdays daytimes 10am-4pm)

Weekday daytime planetarium shows are followed by outdoor water bottle rocket launching! Join a scavenger hunt too!

Cost: all tickets $10. Duration: 50 mins

Dates: Monday 30 September-Friday 4 October, and Monday 7 October-Friday 11 October.

ROBOTICS SESSIONS - Mon 30 Sept + Mon 7 Oct 10am-12.30pm

Roving the Red Planet: A Stellar Holiday Adventure in Mars Rover Robotics!

Cost: $35 per child with accompanying adult free of charge. $20 for Starlight Explorer members.

Year Level: Recommended for ages 7+
Duration: 2.5 hours
Planetarium show: 3-2-1 Liftoff!

Take these school holidays to the next level and travel out of this world to the rocky landscape of Mars in a one hour educator-led session on robotics! You get to build and code a LEGO Mars Rover to drive over the Martian surface, before racing other crews through a Martian maze to the finish line.

There will be spot prizes for the most inventive, maneuverable, and quickest robots. After your robot race, enjoy a show followed by a water rocket demonstration (weather/wind permitting).

The robot building will be done in teams of three, so grab two mates and come together, or come along and be allocated a team and make some new friends in the process.

Children under 14 years old must have a supervising adult with them at all times. Accompanying adult goes free.
