Fairytale Puppet Show with the Hand Pulled Collective

We are very excited to bring you this performance.  Friends Exploring Epic Tales’ are a rambunctious and dysfunctional travelling trio, ambushing audiences with fairy tales from different cultures while squabbling over the best way to tell them. Binding the show is a story arc between the titular friends: Dinghy, an accident-prone adventurer; the equally fashionable and witty Ryan; and Garge, who has an eagle’s eye and a heart of gold.

Suitable for ages 5 and up and their whanau.

Time Warp with author Maria Gill

Author Maria Gill will take children back to the past reimagining the first Dutch explorers mapping New Zealand. You can help Maria re-enact the story with props, hear some famous adventurers’ stories and do some activities relating to the stories.

Maria Gill has written 62 stories for children over 22 years. Her book ‘Anzac Heroes’ won the 2016 NZCYA Book of the Year prize, as well as the nonfiction award. Storylines awarded Maria the 2020 Margaret Mahy Medal for outstanding services to children’s literature. www.mariagill.co.nz

Suitable for ages 7-12.
