The Sikh community is said to be Aotearoa's fastest-growing and fifth-largest religious group, with the number of people affiliated with the faith more than quadrupling since 2006.
Many Sikhs who settled in Aotearoa New Zealand have also lived in the Pacific Islands in places like Fiji, before migrating to Auckland. At this event hosted by the Auckland Inter-Faith Council (AIFC), the Sikh community introduces some of their culture and tradition, like the 'sewa' which refers to 'selfless service', work or service performed without any thought of reward or personal benefit.
There will also be a guided tour through the Gurdwara. All are welcome and your questions are welcome too – see you there!
