The Premier Hockey League is Aotearoa’s elite domestic hockey competition. It is an annual contest with the best players competing across four rival franchises in a battle for national supremacy.
It will be played across six weekends starting on 2nd and 3rd November and running through until Finals weekend on Saturday 7th December.
The opening games are played at Auckland Hockey Association on Saturday 2nd of November with the home team, The Tridents, welcoming neighbouring franchises, The Mavericks. The first game is at 2pm where the men’s team will play. The second game at 4pm features the women. Gates will open at midday.
Food vendors will be onsite with live music, kids activities like inflatable fun and the games will be televised live on TVNZ+.
The Tridents represent the region from the Bombays through to the far North.
The Mavericks represent the region from Taranaki right across the North Island through Waikato and the BOP to the East Coast.
