LÉON BRISTOL & FRANCIS CARTER
What we put in media matters. Yet despite the extensive diversity, identities are misportrayed because roles are given to those without authentic lived experiences. This means underrepresented communities are often stereotyped, exaggerated, or overlooked – influencing cultural views and beliefs.
Beings: Tātou Tātou is a photography exhibition, through a larger kaupapa, to showcase authentic representation of our BIPOC, Rainbow, and Disabled identities and champion the rich and unmatchable storytelling we bring to media spaces. Tātou tātou – nothing about us
without us.
