Learn to Sew, Upcycle & Mend!

Join a free 4 week sewing course offered by Soroptimists International North Shore to transform old clothes into new creations while reducing textile waste!

This Beginner Level course is perfect for those new to sewing.
There is also a Intermediate Level and Advanced Level course being offered on later dates.

The Sewing for Sustainability programme is being offered by Soroptimist International North Shore and teaches practical sewing skills focused on mending, upcycling, and repurposing textiles to reduce waste. Participants will learn basic sewing techniques, garment repairs, and creative ways to transform old clothing into new items.

The programme includes projects such as making reusable bags and accessories, with an opportunity to contribute to fundraising efforts for ovarian cancer research. We offer this course free of charge, welcoming anyone interested in sustainable fashion, from beginners to experienced sewists, while fostering creativity, skill-sharing, and community engagement.
