Sub 49 Heritage At The Cottage

Lifewise is proud to celebrate Auckland city’s rich heritage with a special three-day public screening of the 1950 Empire Games – an iconic event held right here in the city. Join us inside the historic Myers Park Cottage to view curated footage of the Games, with multiple sessions running each day to suit your schedule.

Alongside the screenings, we’re also honouring the history of Myers Park Cottage itself – one of Auckland’s significant heritage sites. On Sunday 28 September 2025, hear from Edward Bennett, author of A Centennial History of Myers Park, as he shares fascinating insights into the cottage, the kindergarten, and the wider Myers Park area.

This event offers a rare chance to revisit a defining moment in New Zealand’s sporting history while deepening your appreciation of one of our city’s most treasured buildings. Free and open to everyone – don’t miss it!
