We learn about the lives of individuals and iwi connected to the land surrounding the Pah Homestead, building a living picture of Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland’s historical past. In 1950, at the time of the Empire Games, the mansion was used as a Catholic boarding school for boys. In 1912, The Anglican Reverend Percy Smallfield ran a competition to see how many wheelbarrows full of dirt the boys could fill in a day... In the 1890s horse and hound hunts were enjoyed, while in the 1880s croquet and lawn tennis were played.

Even further back in time, predating 1840, are archaeological remains of fishhooks and midden.
