Weave Workshop

Creative Nature Workshops for Whānau.

All workshops are free and family-friendly. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • WEAVE

Create shared and personal weavings using nature’s threads.

Wednesday 1st October – Olympic Park (with EcoMatters)

Threads of the Park

Weave people, place, and presence.
Gather natural materials—found treasures—and help build a shared loom weaving called a “Story Catcher.” You’ll also make your own small story catcher to take home, filled with the story of your walk.

  • STORY KŌRERO

Make a mini book inspired by your walk, filled with words, drawings, and memories from the park.

  1. Sunday 9th November – Fernglen Garden (with Kaipātiki Project)
  2. Saturday 13th December – La Rosa Gardens
  3. Thursday 9th April – Tōtara Park

Make Your Own Book in the Park.
Walk. Wonder. Write. Draw.
Create your own mini-book inspired by your journey through the park. Guided by prompts as we walk, you’ll fill your folded pages with the unique stories of the park—and the ones you bring. We’ll then bind them into a handmade book.

WRAP

Wrap natural treasures into mindful stone keepsakes to take home.

  1. Friday 23rd January – Moire Park
  2. Tuesday 14th April – Monarch Park

Mindful Stones

Wander. Gather. Wrap.
In this playful workshop, we’ll explore the park to collect natural treasures—sticks, feathers, leaves, and more. Then, using simple wrapping techniques, we’ll turn ordinary stones into beautiful, mindful objects.

Perfect for tamariki, caregivers, and anyone who loves creating with nature’s gifts.

All materials provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
