LIVE (Lupe I Vao Ese) day: Measina in Motion transforms Central City Library into a multi-level experience that celebrates Pasifika knowledge systems, creativity, and community. Each floor becomes a site of encounter: from the Pasifika maker’s market and digital experiences for tamariki on the Ground Floor, to Melanesian craft traditions and kava circles on Level 1, to curator tours of Lupe I Vao Ese exhibition and Pasifika workshops on Level 2.
Lupe I Vao Ese, meaning “doves in different pastures,” is a poetic metaphor from Gagana Samoa that speaks to the movement of measina, cultural treasures of Moana Oceania as they traverse time and space. These treasures carry the voices of ancestors, weaving their stories into the present and beyond.
