Illuminate your space with your own handcrafted Cloisonné Night Light in this creative and relaxing workshop! You’ll learn how to shape fine metal wires into beautiful, intricate designs on a clear acrylic panel. These designs are then filled with vibrant colour sand, creating a stunning stained-glass effect—no heat or melting required.
Once completed, your artwork will be assembled into a wooden LED light base, transforming your piece into a glowing night light to take home. This workshop is beginner-friendly and suitable for both adults and older children. It’s a perfect way to explore the art of Cloisonné enamel in a modern, functional format. All tools and materials are provided, and you'll be guided step-by-step by an experienced tutor. Let your creativity shine—whether you follow traditional patterns or create your own, this is a unique experience that blends art, culture, and craftsmanship.
About the Artist:
Based in Auckland, I am a multidisciplinary artist and workshop facilitator with over 10 years of hands-on experience in macramé, leathercraft, and cloisonné enamel. For the past six years, I have been sharing my skills through teaching, including two years of delivering creative workshops across libraries, community centres, and art galleries in Tāmaki Makaurau. My sessions are designed to be inclusive, engaging, and suitable for all skill levels. I hold an Adult and Tertiary Teaching Certificate from Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and am currently expanding my cultural knowledge through learning Māori wood carving. This journey enriches my practice and deepens the connection between my craft and local heritage. Whether working with adults, children, or whānau groups, I aim to create meaningful, hands-on experiences that empower participants through creativity and cultural expression. I also enjoy tailoring workshops to align with seasonal or cultural themes.
