Join us this summer for some fun at the library! Please stay with your tamariki during the activities and have fun with them. Some activities are specifically designed for certain ages; all children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Summertime I-Spy Cabinet and Jandal Treasure Hunt
Pop into East Coast Bays Library this summer and see if you can find all the things! Our wildly popular in-library scavenger hunt and I-Spy Cabinet are back to keep you busy. Don't forget to enter your I-Spy entries into Sprinkle the Penguin's Prize Draw - you could win a brand new book! All Scavenger Hunt winners will receive a beautiful East Coast Bays Library bookmark to colour in.
Bug Hotel - Tuesday 6 January 2026: 10.00 am - 11.00 am
The mini beasts need somewhere to live! Make a bug hotel to put in your garden.
Zines for Teens - Thursday 8 January 2026: 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm
Summer session - what does your new year look like? Let's dream together and create our own story! Create your own zine that could be added to the zine collection at Central Library. This session is specifically designed for 13+
Sticky and Slimy - Monday 12 January 2026: 10.00 am - 11.00 am
Learn about the slimy side of nature and make your own sensory slime to take home with you. Ages 5+ recommended.
Dungeons & Dragons - Saturday 17 January 2026: 11.00 am - 1.00 pm
Come and play D & D at the library, we will have local Dragon master Dan here to guide you through this fun game. Ages 16+
I'm an Albatross - Monday 19 January 2026: 10.00 am - 11.00 am
Hear about Molly the albatross and her adventures. We will read a story written by local author Dr. Neil, and then create our own albatross to take home.
Nature Journal- Wednesday 21 January 2026: 10.00 am - 11.00 am
Look at your world through a different lens and learn how to create your very own nature journal. All materials provided. Best for ages 8+

Raumati Reads Party - Sunday 4 February 2026: 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm
This is your chance to come and celebrate the end of Summer with us! Sit down with your friends to watch a movie and munch on some popcorn. Then join us for bubbles and party games. All ages welcome, please be advised: children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
