Get ready for an epic street party in the heart of Auckland! This FREE Lunar New Year event will transform Te Hā o Hine (Khartoum Place), located in the heart of one of the city’s favourite Asian fusion dining precincts – Lorne Street, into a  buzzing celebration of contemporary Asian-Aotearoa culture, creativity and community.

Feel the energy as Street Dance crews, brought to you by Street Talk NZ, light up the street with explosive battles, before the vibe shifts into the Lunar Cypher: Fire Horse Edition – a high‑energy rap cypher celebrating collective creativity, connection and expression. Expect raw bars and big beats, with artists building off each other’s flows in a shared moment of sound, story and style.

Love K-pop? Catch your favourite choreos live and loud, and if you’re feeling brave, grab the mic for karaoke open mic with Eric & Susan Qu, plus special guest host 姐姐 Amanda Grace Leo, and belt out your anthem.

It’s not just about the beats—there’s plenty of fun for the whole whānau! Test your skills with Asian board games and Go/WeiQi workshops, get hands-on with crafts and cultural activities hosted by Andi & Jingshu and discover local talent at the book launch of ‘Missing’, a children’s picture book by Thomas Chin.

Keep the celebrations going and wander to Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, for colourful, creativity‑packed programme (think lion dancing, K‑pop, lanterns and more), to lively Chun Seollal traditions at Auckland Library and festive moments at the Ellen Melville Centre.

Experience beats, moves, culture and fun, all for FREE!

Proudly supported by the city centre targeted rate.
