Waitangi ki Ōmaru is a free whānau event, inviting everyone to "give it a go" while celebrating Te Tiriti o Waitangi through Participation, Partnership, and Protection.

Enjoy activities for all ages and capabilities, with performances representing Aotearoa - New Zealand, China, Cook Islands, Samoa, Hawaii, and Brazil.

Food Trucks & Stalls:
Filipino, Spanish, Māori, Vietnamese, Tongan, and BBQ food with plenty of drinks and ice creams.

Activities for Tamariki:
•    Tamariki ki tua arts and crafts (preschoolers)
•    Face painting
•    Giant Egg & Spoon races
•    Coordination game challenges

Activities for Kaumātua & Whaikaha (elderly & disabled)
•    Card games (euchre, jacks)
•    Open games — bring something to challenge your neighbour
•    Chill out area

Activities for Everyone
•    Bubble Soccer
•    Te Tiriti o Waitangi history & workshop
•    Waka Ama
•    Kī-o-rahi
•    Line dancing
•    Karaoke

Activity Times: All activities run from 10.00am – 3.00pm

•    10.00am - Ngāti Pāoa welcome and Kapa Haka performance
•    10.30am – Jin Yan Dance Group
•    11.00am – Tama’aru Cultural Dance Group
•    11.30am – Boot Scootin Line Dancing
•    12.00pm – Country music with Te Whānau
•    12.30pm – Karaoke Comp with Awatea Wihongi
•    2.00pm – Ura Tabu Pacific Dance
•    2.30pm – Samba Passion
•    3.00pm – Final Prize Draws - closing

This is a Parakore event -  we are committed to a zero-waste kaupapa by reducing rubbish, encouraging reusable items, and caring for Papatūānuku.

Waitangi ki Ōmaru is hosted by Ngāti Pāoa. Ngā mihi ThreeOne Productions,  Ki tua o Matariki and Auckland Council Events.

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION:
Off-street parking adjacent to the reserve can be accessed from Elstree Ave. Once parked, there are entrances along the tree and fenceline.
1)   Public parking entry/exit - Elstree Ave 
2)   Mobility parking -  Pt England Rd (beside the reserve)
3)   Restricted event parking -  Pt England Rd (from the boat ramp)
