Raranga Wānanga with Ahi Nyx (Booking Required)

Slow down and reconnect with our whenua this March in an eco-friendly weaving workshop with Ahi Nyx. Learn how to make a kono (four-cornered basket), a practical and valuable weaving skill rooted in tradition. This hands-on workshop invites you to work mindfully with natural materials while deepening your connection to whenua and craft.

 

DIY Hydroponics Workshop (Booking Required)

Date and time: Saturday 28th March 2pm-4pm

Ages: 14+

Bring your own jar or container and learn to make a kratky hydroponic system out of recycled materials, perfect for a windowsill herb garden.

 

Wastewise Activation & Make a Bug Hotel with AECAN

Learn about the journey of household food scraps, make a home for the bugs of your garden or trial an ebike at this fun Eco-day!

 

Make Your Own Food Wrap

Date and time: Thursday 9th April 11am-11:30am

Ages: 5+

Come along to this drop-in session to make your own reusable food wrap using beeswax or vegan-friendly ingredients. Take a step toward becoming more sustainable and reducing your plastic waste!

 

Pollinators Seed Bomb Workshop

Buzz on over for a fun, eco-friendly seed bomb workshop at Pt Chevalier library! In this relaxed, hands-on session, families will mix recycled paper with a variety of pollinator friendly seeds to create seed bombs that help turn gardens into welcoming spaces for bees and other pollinators.

This creative activity supports biodiversity, encourages care for our environment, and celebrates the simple joy of gardening. A fun whānau activity that connects us to our whenua and the natural world.

 

Pet Toy Craft with Waiōrea Community Recycling Centre(Booking Required)

Turn trash into treasure in this upcycling workshop and learn how to use recycled textiles to make toys for your pets.

 

Make a Badge for Climate Action with AECAN

Ages: All ages

Badges have been the OG of Climate Action, whether it was against nuclear power 50 years ago or against AI generated energy waste today. Come and express what Climate Action you care about and wear it proudly for all to see.

 

Emergency Preparedness Workshop

Join Auckland Emergency Management and Neighbourhood Support for a practical and interactive emergency preparedness workshop.
