Karangahape Road’s beloved FAM returns this March for its first edition of 2026, bringing fresh energy, expanded market zones and a full day of culture across K’Road.
FAM anchors at Beresford Square and extends into Mercury Lane, expanding both the market footprint and the music programme.
Double the markets:
- Beresford Square remains the heart of FAM, packed with handmade goods, art, homeware and local makers.
- Small Rave Kids Activation presents The Great One Day Gallery, where young creatives can make their own still life masterpiece and see it displayed on a pop-up gallery wall curated entirely by kids.
- Down in Mercury Lane, expect a vintage treasure zone filled with op shops, secondhand gems and throwback finds.
- Familiar favourites including Search and Destroy, Bad News and Smoove return, alongside Rachel Mills, Gloria, Fine Specimen, Dimes Vintage and more.
- Coco’s Cantina joins the action with Coco’s Market from 11am–3pm, soundtracked by DJ K-Ro Casta, while Lebanese Grocer serves up street-side flavour from its beloved food window.
Music across two sites:
- Beresford Square hosts vinyl-only sets from DJ Scarlett and Carlito.
- Mercury Lane features Leon D and Martina Mark on the decks.
One-day-only art moments:
- Melanie Roger Gallery presents FSL Drawing Redaction by Matt Ellwood — a one-day interactive exhibition where audiences can cut and take away a piece of the artist’s drawing under set conditions.
- Bergman Gallery opens Soʻotaga, everything carries forward…, bringing together Taja Vaetoru and Alison Leauanae in a dialogue exploring lineage and migration.
- Samoa House Library launches its first public programme of the year with a zine-making workshop from 11am–1pm, led by writer-in-residence Hāwea Apiata with Marama Salsano. Open to everyone.
Live performance:
- Adding to the day’s programme, Urban Tumbleweed will deliver a live performance, bringing experimental sound and movement into the street environment.
FAM continues to cement Karangahape Road as one of Tāmaki Makaurau’s most vibrant creative precincts — blending independent retail, contemporary art, performance and food into one walkable Saturday experience.
