Response 97 Iran History

Join us for a vibrant cultural event celebrating Iran, a country with thousands of years of history, rich traditions, and a deep appreciation for art, poetry, and science.

We’ll explore Iran’s unique solar calendar, one of the world’s oldest, designed around astronomical precision. This calendar begins on the spring equinox, which usually falls on March 20, marking Nowruz—the Iranian New Year. Nowruz symbolizes renewal, harmony with nature, and the arrival of spring.

We’ll introduce the beautiful custom of the Haft-Seen table, a display of seven symbolic items beginning with the Persian letter S, each representing themes like rebirth, health, love, and prosperity. The event will also feature engaging activities and hands-on cultural experiences for all ages.
