Support sustainability and get creative with the Thread Exchange!
This hands‑on programme encourages the re‑use of fabric and showcases how fun and accessible sewing can be. Using a specialised cutting machine, you’ll select and cut out a pre‑designed sewing project—anything from small accessories to simple craft items.
Once your pieces are ready, you can stay and assemble your project in the library, enjoying a relaxed, social crafting environment, or take the pieces home to complete them yourself or for someone else. It’s a great way to try a new skill, share resources, and keep perfectly good fabric from being wasted.
This session is open to adults and teens of all sewing levels, from absolute beginners to experienced makers. Friendly assistance is always available to help those new to sewing feel confident and supported.
All materials are provided—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
This is one of three Pick'N'Mix sessions being run in the Howick Local Board Libraries during 2026 Ecofest.
