Response 95 Stories In Stitches Of Nakshi Kantha

Discover the beauty of Nakshi Kantha, a centuries-old Bengali art form where embroidery becomes a language of memory and identity. Originating in Bangladesh and neighbouring regions of West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam, it was traditionally made from recycled cloth. After daily chores, people gathered to stitch and share stories, giving rise to the saying, “Every stitch holds a story.”

Open to ages 16+. In this hands-on session, you’ll receive fabric and thread to create motifs inspired by your culture, identity, or experiences. As we stitch, we’ll chat, connect, and explore how threads carry stories across time and place. No experience needed—just curiosity and creativity.

Join us to unwind and craft a meaningful piece of your story, one stitch at a time.
