A concert event bringing together themes on the harsh realities of war but with a unified hope for peace and reconciliation.

WORKS to be performed

  • Karl Jenkins, The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace | For Choir, Soprano, Brass Band and Organ
One of the most performed choral works of our time. Tracking a journey from the anticipation of battle to the devastation of war and the hope of reconciliation.

Based on poetry from soliders, nurses and conscientious objectors, written by Auckland based composer David Hamilton.
  • Fendall Hill, Perspectives from Gallipoli | For Brass Band
Written to give thanks to the people of Weymouth and Dorset, who looked after numerous ANZACs in WWI. From a soldier's perspective, tracing the initial exciting of signing up, to the battle, to withdrawing and receiving comfort in Weymouth, to commemorating and remembering those who sacrificed.
