Against the backdrop of the photographic exhibition, this talk begins by describing what kauri gum is, including placing it within the world of natural resins.
It goes on to describe the different types of kauri gum, what it has been used for (including the great collections), where to find it today and what to do with it.
There is some discussion on kauri amber, in particular the international research into flora and fauna inclusions. The talk includes a modest historical overview.
