10-12pm “Family Fun Wriggle and Rhyme”

Wriggle, rhyme, and dance with us! Enjoy fun songs and big movements, then stay to play with toys and friends. Preschool fun for the whole family.

12-2pm “Movie Time”

Grab your popcorn and get cosy—it’s movie time at the library! Join us for a big‑screen adventure filled with laughs, surprises, and all your favourite characters. Bring your friends, pick your spot, and enjoy a super fun movie moment right here at the library!

2-3pm Minecraft”

Come along to the Papakura Library Minecraft Club.
Join other kids and swap hints, show off builds, and play alongside other enthusiasts in a welcoming space. Bring your own device.

Tuesday 7 April 10-12pm “The fabric of play”

Step into a creative sensory play experience with The Fabric of Play. Children can explore, build, and invent using handcrafted loose parts made from repurposed materials. It’s an open-ended, imaginative environment designed for curious minds who love to make, move, and discover.

Wednesday 8 April 10-12pm “Wriggle and Rhyme Playgroup – Natures Garden”

Bounce, wiggle, and play! Join us for music and movement fun where toddlers and preschoolers can Wriggle and Rhyme for a 30-minute music session. Then explore through free play. Come join the fun!

Thursday 9 April 10.30-12pm “Bookie the Hedgehog”

Create your own adorable book‑folded hedgehog! Kids will transform an old book into a cute, spiky friend using simple folding techniques and crafty decorations. It’s easy, hands‑on, and full of personality—everyone leaves with a unique hedgehog to take home! Ages 10 and up.

Friday 10 April 10.30-12pm “Once Upon an Outfit”

Create the coolest outfit ever! Mix colours, shapes, and wild materials to design your own wearable art. Big ideas, bold style, and heaps of creativity—then show it off and enter the Wearable Arts competition for awesome prizes!

Friday 10 April 2-3.30pm “Create Your Own Storybook Character.”

Join a pro illustrator for a hands-on creative workshop! Kids will invent their own character, sketch it to life, and create a mini story starring their new hero. Plus, they can proudly display their masterpieces in the library. A fun, imaginative adventure for all to enjoy and share together.

Surface Tension: What makes bubbles stick together like magic?
Air Resistance: How do they float, zoom, or drift?
Gas Science: What’s going on inside a bubble?

Let’s explore, play, and discover! For kids 5-14 years.

Monday 13 April 10.30-12pm “Billy Goats Engineering Challenge!”

Help the Three Billy Goats Gruff cross the river! Listen to a fractured fairytale of the story, then build your own strong bridge to outsmart the troll. Create, test, and have loads of building fun!

Tuesday 14 April 10.30-12pm “Jack’s Totally Ridiculous Beanstalk Adventure!”

Climb into the magic of Jack and the Beanstalk! Hear a fractured fairytale of story, plant your own special bean, and create the castle in the sky. Watch your beanstalk grow taller – just like in Jack’s amazing adventure!

Wednesday 15 April 10-12pm “Wriggle and Rhyme Playgroup – Teddy Bear’s Picnic”

Bounce, wiggle, and play! Join us for music and movement fun where toddlers and preschoolers can Wriggle and Rhyme for a 30-minute music session. Then explore through free play. Bring your teddy and picnic and come join the fun!

Thursday 16 April 10.30-12.30pm “Creative Woodwork”

Kids will drill, design, and build their own wooden creations, then sand and paint them using recycled materials. A fun, hands‑on workshop that sparks creativity, problem‑solving, and sustainability.
