Join fellow Rakino Island snorkeling enthusiasts for a low-tide exploration of the Māori Garden Bay rocky reef, home to a variety of fascinating marine life. This relaxed snorkeling session will be followed by light snacks and refreshments, as well as an informal discussion about how the local community can help protect this special snorkeling spot for the future.
Participants will need to bring their own snorkeling gear and have basic snorkeling experience. A wetsuit is recommended, as time in the water will be approximately one hour. Attendees are encouraged to bring simple snacks to share afterwards.
This event is best suited to Rakino Island residents due to transport and accommodation limitations, and it is weather dependent.
This event is part of EcoFest, an annual month-long festival taking place Saturday 22 March – Tuesday 22 April 2026.
