As part of the Albert-Eden & Puketāpapa Eco Festival, we’re offering a morning of raranga harakeke (flax weaving) and kaitiakitanga o te taiao (caring for our environment) at Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae.

- 9.30am: Mihi Whakatau
- 9.45am - 10.45am: Raranga Kaitiaki - Papawai Whāriki
Join Hinewaimarama Reihana-White to learn about kaitiakitanga, and weave papawai whāriki to place in the wai and create habitat for life in Te Waiunuroa o Wairaka. - 10.45am - 11am: Kapu tī
- 11am - 1pm: Wāhine Whenua
Join Dr Jo Diamond and Nat Rose Te Hei for a hands-on session of raranga harakeke. Leave with a taonga harakeke created by you!
Everyone is welcome and tamariki must be supported by an adult.
In the evening, we will have another event at Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae - Hotu Painu: Film Screening of the doco by Pita Turei.
