TUESDAY 7 APRIL: 2PM - 3PM | Make your own Worm Farm with Sarah from Compost Collective

Join Sarah at Whangaparāoa Library for this fun, hands-on worm farming workshop for kids. Dive into the fascinating world of tiger worms and discover how these tiny composting heroes turn food scraps into fertiliser for your plants. There’ll be plenty of wiggly worm fun and hands-on activities including how to make a mini-worm from ice-cream containers to take home. Perfect for kids aged 5-10.

WEDNESDAY 8th APRIL: 2PM - 3PM | "The Guardians" YA Book Launch

Join local author Linda Shepard for an exciting event launching her new YA book “The Guardians”.

13-year-old Josh Strong is already angry when his mum sends him and his sister away for the summer. But in Auckland, strange magic and unexpected danger find him. Now Josh must discover if he’s truly strong enough to become a hero.

This event will include an author reading, Q&A session, and a book signing. Books will be available to purchase from the author at the event. 

Recommended for ages 10+

Bring your needles and yarn and get creative.  All levels of experience and expertise welcome.

SPECIAL ECOFEST EVENT: Old to Gold: Teen Jewellery Upcycling - 12+

Join us for a one-of-a-kind Free Teen Event, upcycling old jewellery into something new!

Bring your old or broken jewellery that you no longer wear and use it to create new pieces!

This event is for ages 12+

Jewellery making tools and basic materials will be available.

SPECIAL ECOFEST EVENT: Throw & Grow: Make a Seed Bomb

Head along and get your hands dirty making your very own Seed Bombs! This event is for all ages so bring the family make a seed bomb that you can use in your garden at home. Make sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. Come anytime during the event to make your seed bomb.

FRIDAY 17th APRIL: 2PM - 3PM | Savvy and the Stolen Recycling: An Educational Theatre Show

Follows Savvy the Pirate and Bertie the Seagull as they embark on an adventure to find out who has stolen the city’s recycling, before it is too late!

A Fool’s Company (with support from Auckland Council and EcoMatters Environment Trust) presents an educational theatre show aimed at teaching tamariki in Tāmaki Makaurau the importance of knowing how to recycle right.
