Join Verity Kindleysides on an exploration of Te Hau Kapua’s natural environment, inspired by her exhibition at DEPOT 3 Vic Road, which studies the three-maunga island chain of the Devonport peninsula linked by jewel-like gardens.
Students will practice observing, drawing and painting botanical subjects with attention to light and shadow. The sessions are divided into two parts: working outdoors (en plein air) to study plants directly from nature, and then continuing the work indoors using natural objects in the studio. A variety of materials will be used to explore different ways of capturing the subject.
No experience necessary! This workshop is designed to inspire your creativity in a supportive studio environment.
Presented as part of DEPOT’s 30th year celebration.
