Dominic Hoey's One Day Intensive Novel Writing Workshop | Saturday 16 May, 10am - 4pm
Dominic Hoey (New Zealand Best Seller and long listed for Ockham NZ Book Awards) will cover the core techniques used in writing short stories and novels, helping you build a strong foundation for your work. You’ll explore:

- dialogue
- structure
- setting
- point of view
- editing
- practical tools to strengthen and refine your writing.
Dominic Hoey is a poet, author and playwright from Aotearoa, New Zealand. His novels Iceland, Poor People With Money and 1985 were all New Zealand bestsellers, with Iceland and 1985 longlisted for the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards. He won the 2021 Sunday Star-Times Short Story Award and was also longlisted for the 2018 Ockham Book Awards.
Since 2015, Dominic has run his Learn to Write Good creative writing courses, teaching hundreds of students across the country. Drawing on over 25 years of experience across prose, poetry, theatre and music, his classes are relaxed, inclusive and focused on nurturing creativity.
