Join Kaiwhakamahiri Pirihi Taiwhenua Curatorial Intern Emily Lyall for this drop-in workshop to make a pinhole camera.

Be inspired by artist and filmmaker Selina Ershadi’s current exhibition The Blue Dome as you think about what images you will capture with your new camera and what histories they will tell.

Suitable for ages 8+. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

What to expect: 

The location is accessible. Materials will be provided.

Drop in anytime between 12pm - 4pm.

Biography:

Emily Lyall of Te Whakatōhea and Te Whānau-a-Apanui is interested in exploring alternative modes of curation and exhibition making, approaching her practice with an Indigenous lens.

Her studies in Māori Visual Arts, Toioho ki Āpiti and Museum and Heritage Practice, Te Herenga Waka inform her passion for arts engagement and culture. Some of her recent work includes exhibiting at Te Manawa, curating for Toi Māori Aotearoa and interning at Te Papa Tongarewa in kaitiakitanga taonga Māori and education.
