Come and celebrate te tau hou Māori at Piha and see these magnificent giant Manu tukutuku (kites).
Did you know that one of the stars in the Matariki constellation is Tupuārangi?
Tupuārangi (Atlas) is the star linked to food and growth above the ground. Tupuārangi also has a strong connection with birds. (The Māori word for bird is manu, and the Māori word for kite is manu tukutuku!)
Come and appreciate our beautiful taiao, as we enter into the Māori New Year.
