Dive into a fun-filled underwater sewing adventure and create your very own moana‑inspired plush creatures!

This beginner-friendly workshop is perfect for crafty kids who love to create, learn and have fun. Together, we’ll sew adorable sea animals that can be turned into toys, ornaments or bag charms.

Grounded in the kaupapa of Matariki, this workshop encourages tamariki to connect with te taiao (the natural world) and the moana, reflecting on creativity, renewal and learning together as whānau during the Māori New Year.

Through this hands-on activity, children will develop:

  • basic sewing skills
  • creativity and imagination
  • patience and confidence.

Perfect for creative whānau fun!

Suitable for children aged 5–12 years. Parent or caregiver assistance is required.
