Come along and enjoy fun school holiday activities at Onehunga Library!

Monday 6 July, 10am - 11.30am | Gardening with Bunnings 

Bunnings will be back at the library this school holidays to deliver a hands-on gardening workshop. Children get to take away their own plant to care for at home.

Bookings required. For ages 5 -12.

Tuesday 7 July, 10am - 11.30am | Matariki Movie Time

Join us for a PG movie, suitable for the whole family. Full of adventure and friendship, this moving story weaves in Māori culture and connection to land.

No bookings required. For ages 5+.

Thursday 9 July, 10am - 11.30am | Matariki Games Fest

Enjoy giant games in our foyer then head into the library for some of your favourite table-top games. You’ll also have the chance to learn some traditional Māori games.

No bookings required. For ages 5+.

Saturday 11 July, 10am - 10.45am & 11am - 11.45am | Matariki Quest with Papaya Stories

See, hear, smell and feel your way around the nine whetū (stars) of Matariki!

Bookings required. For ages 5-15.

Wednesday 15 July, 10am - 11.15am | Matariki Memories Art Workshop with Whimsy and Co.

Children will use imaginative prompts to turn memories and ideas into stars. With mixed materials, they’ll create a rotating star wheel, layering colour and texture. Each child will create a small constellation of their own past, present and possible future.

Bookings required. For ages 8-12.

Thursday 16 July, 6pm - 6.45pm | Matariki Storytime After Dark

Join us for a cosy Matariki Storytime After Dark at the library. Come in your PJs and bring a torch and teddy for a night of magical Matariki stories. Enjoy a simple Matariki craft and warm up with hot cocoa as we settle in for a snug, starry evening.
