Come and see Matariki rise with a self-guided hīkoi to Maungakiekie tihi (summit).
Follow the path and learn a little about te taiao (the environment) and the Matariki stars. Glow-in-the-dark markers will provide kōrero and guide your way. Reach the summit just before dawn - in time to see Matariki rise above the horizon.
Start the walk either from Huia Lodge, Cornwall Park or from the Olive Grove next to Stardome. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own torches. Huia Lodge and its toilets will be open during the walk. Hīkoi pamphlets will be available for all visitors.
