Nau mai, haere mai! Join us at Waituna stream where it flows into Little Muddy Creek (Paruiti Awa). We will be putting some native plants in the ground, which can add stability to the stream banks, absorb water in heavy rain, and provide a healthy habitat for our native birds and critters.
Be a part of transforming this stream into a thriving awa that flows well in changeable weather, is more resilient in heavy rain and drought, and helps move water quickly to the sea.
Bring a hat, rain jacket and gardening gloves if you have any, and wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. We’ll finish with a BBQ at the end.
Meet at the Brick Bridge on Huia Road (opp Tangiwai Reserve). The best place to park is on Landing Road.
