Young Gallery Night at Auckland Art Gallery is a celebration of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s young creatives. Join us for DJs, performances, workshops and more featuring talented local rangatahi youth.
Also open on the night is our Pat Hanly Creativity Awards student exhibition, displaying original works from Year 12 and Year 13 students.
What to expect:
The gallery will come alive with:
- dance performances
- a fashion showcase
- film and print workshops
- live figure drawing
- DJ Empress Naima providing the tunes all evening.
Programme highlights:
- All evening, 6pm to 9pm: DJ Empress Naima spinning vinyl, live figure drawing, plus stop by the Pat Hanly Creativity Awards exhibition to see this year’s selected student works.
- 6.45pm and 8pm: Dance performance from University of Auckland Waipapa Taumata Rau.
- 6.30pm to 8.30pm: Scratch film workshop and printing workshop plus a live video soundscape performance.
- 7.30pm to 8pm: Fashion showcase from final year students at Whitecliffe.
