Whānau Day is a FREE, fun-filled day for the whole whānau!

Join us for a vibrant celebration of storytelling from Aotearoa and Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa, kapa haka, cultural performances, kēmu, arts activities, kai and so much more.

We’re filling every corner of the estate with something to explore, experience and enjoy.

Ki waho | Outside

Browse market stalls filled with arts, crafts, treats and delicious kai. Enjoy live DJs, performances from Tāmaki-based Māori and Pacific artists, kapa haka, and competitions running throughout the day.

Ki roto | Inside | Te Kōpua 

Get creative with free arts and crafts activities or join the queue for face painting with the talented Face Fatale (bring a koha for our artists).

Ki roto | Inside | Tokomanawa Theatre

Catch an exciting line-up featuring The Dust Palace, Maie Sitete, theatre for tamariki, interactive dance experiences and more, including something special from Atamira Dance Company.

Ki roto | Inside | Tāhū

Our intimate studio transforms into a magical storytelling grove, featuring bestselling author Hinemoa Elder and a sensory experience for pēpi and their caregivers.
