This event features a mix of video and photo exhibition with kōrero to launch the West Auckland Kai Stories project.
Kai West has led several kai conversations across West Auckland, exploring the past, present and future of kai while capturing stories that connect people, place and whakapapa.
The project gathers stories from across communities, reflecting memories of abundance, traditional food practices and the enduring role of mana whenua as kaitiaki (guardians) of the land. It weaves together narratives of Māori relationships with whenua and kai, alongside stories brought by the many communities who have made West Auckland home over time.
