Appointment to the Board of Auckland Future Fund Trustee Limited

Auckland Council has appointed June McCabe as an additional director to the Board of Auckland Future Fund Trustee Limited.

Councillor Christine Fletcher chaired the selection panel and endorses the appointment.

"June was an outstanding candidate and will make a great contribution to the governance of the Auckland Future Fund. She brings significant commercial acumen and skillsets that will support the Board in ensuring that the Fund continues to provide strong returns for Auckland. Her appointment was supported unanimously by the selection panel." 

The appointment was confirmed by the Appointments and Performance Review committee at its meeting on 30 July 2026. The committee is responsible for appointments to the boards of council-controlled organisations, in accordance with the council’s Appointment and Remuneration Policy for Board Members and the Local Government Act. 

The committee appointed an additional director to strengthen the governance capacity and resilience of the Auckland Future Fund Trustee Limited board.

About June McCabe
June has more than 25 years’ experience in governance roles across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. After an extensive career in banking and finance, following many years in the public service, June has held a wide range of governance roles. 

Current directorships include Devon Funds Management and Chairman of the asset holding company of Te Rarawa. Previous relevant roles include director of Avanti Finance, Accident Compensation Corporation, founding director of the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund and executive roles in JBWere and Westpac New Zealand.
