Patrons are beginning to enjoy the benefits of the Mt Albert Aquatic Centre's redevelopment.
The centre closed in April for a $3.2 million redevelopment, which includes new tiles and repainting, new spa pools, steam and sauna rooms and equipment, and new roofing and insulation for most of the building.
The main pool reopened in July and the rest of the redevelopment is due to open in early September.
“The trust is very pleased that Mt Albert children and parents will again be able to use our refurbished pool for leisure and recreation,” says Albert-Eden Local Board Deputy Chair Glenda Fryer, who chairs the Mt Albert Grammar School Community Swimming Pool Trust. “We thank the Aquatic Centre’s loyal users for waiting patiently for the pool to be fixed.”
