Beat the winter blues by getting active outdoors and exploring the Upper Harbour area’s beautiful parks, scenic coastal reserves and picturesque bush walks.
Upper Harbour Local Board has produced a free walking guide for residents that features some of the area’s best-kept natural secrets, including the waterfall at Gills Scenic Reserve, the little beaches around Marina View and the tramping routes in Pāremoremo.
There are walks to suit all ability levels – many are buggy-friendly and great for families, while others require tramping boots and a greater degree of fitness and experience.
The guide includes maps and directions for eight reserves, as well as a walk around Herald Island.
The maps identify many points of interest, including picnic areas, sports grounds, cafés and playgrounds.
