Orienteering is a great way to experience the picturesque and diverse terrain of some of Auckland’s regional parks.
An adventure sport designed to test navigational skills, orienteering involves using a course map to locate a series of markers, known as control points.
Competitive orienteering is a race to find all the control points in the quickest time, but the regional park courses are available for people of all fitness and experience levels to have a go at, at their own pace.

There are orienteering courses at:
The course at Huia and Waitakere Ranges regional parks is under construction and will cover the farm and surrounding valley area at Karamatura.
Maps are available on-site from the noticeboards.
