Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre swimming pool is now open after a major makeover.
The pool heating and ventilation system has been upgraded to provide a much more comfortable pool hall environment and provide consistently warm water.
A purpose-built spa pool with capacity for 20 people has been installed and new changing facilities have also been built.
“The upgrades are a significant improvement to the 29-year-old facility,” says Kaipātiki Local Board Chair Kay McIntyre.
“Making the most of our community facilities is an important objective in our local board plan and this upgrade will ensure we get the best use out of a very popular facility."
“There will be increasing demand for leisure and fitness facilities in Auckland in the future, so we need to make sure our amenities keep up with this need,” she says.
The renovations to the pool area follow upgrades to the fitness area in January, when new floors and fitness equipment were installed.

Monday-Friday: 5.30am-9pm
Weekends: 8am-6pm
Public holidays: 9am-5pm
