Now is the time to sign up for one of many creative opportunities at Te Oro, Glen Innes’s new music and arts centre for young people.
Highlights from Te Oro’s October programme include moviemaking, songwriting and theatre workshops, and a TOA Productions workshop called “Creating Theatre: The Monologue”.
You can get more information by checking out the Te Oro website, phoning 09 890 8560 or popping in to Te Oro at 98 Line Road, Glen Innes.
Te Oro is funded by Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board. The facility is governed by the Te Oro Committee, comprising local board members Chris Makoare, Simon Randall and community reps Tara Moala and Georgie Thompson, and representation from mana whenua.
Local board chair Simon Randall is pleased with Te Oro’s impact since the May opening.
“It has been great to see so many local young people learning new arts while celebrating their cultures,” he says.
“The centre is a wonderful hive of activity.”
