Manurewa has officially scooped the world record for longest ice-cream dessert, according to Guinness World Records.
Earlier this year the community raced against the heat to create a 600-metre‑long ice-cream dessert consisting of 2000 litres of ice-cream, 600 metres of guttering, 255 tables and the usual delicious sundae toppings.
The event was organised by Manurewa Local Board as part of its community fun day, and wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Tip Top, which donated the ice‑cream, and Marley, which supplied the guttering. It was a perfect opportunity to bring the community together in a fun and interesting way.
The local board would also like to thank Mai FM, Brannigans Lawyers, Fraser Thomas, and, in particular, all the local residents and community groups who helped put Manurewa into the world record books.
