The dragon that makes its home near the swings at Mission Bay’s Patteson Avenue Reserve now has a name.
Orākei Local Board held a competition to name the recently installed concrete dragon and Annabel Jones from St Heliers School was the winner with the entry Hilderguard.
Annabel says she chose the name because the dragon is guarding the hill on which it sits. She was awarded vouchers from Mövenpick and Dos Amigos restaurant in Mission Bay.
Hilderguard is part of the work the board is doing to improve playground equipment for the community.
