On 1 October we celebrated the 25th birthday of the International Day of Older Persons.
In honour of this significant day, the theme of the next Community Development and Safety Committee (which I chair) is ‘Older People in Auckland’.
If you haven’t made it along to a committee meeting yet, please accept this as a personal invitation. It will be a chance to get up to date with advances in services and programmes for older people across Auckland, celebrate positive ageing and meet members of the council’s Seniors Advisory Panel.
